On the occasion of the Arbaeen of Sayyid al-Shuhada, Imam Husayn (A.S.), the All Kargil (Ladakh) Students’ Association Delhi (AKSAD) organized a spiritually uplifting and dignified Majlis-e-Arbaeen under the theme “The Journey of Love” at Masjid Imam Ali (A.S.), Basant Road, New Delhi. The gathering witnessed the enthusiastic participation of a large number of students from Kargil, Ladakh, and Delhi, university professors, scholars, intellectuals, social figures, and devotees of the Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.).
Addressing the congregation, Maulana Sheikh Jawad Habibi and Maulana Feroz Rabbani eloquently highlighted the universal message of Karbala and the significance of Arbaeen in the context of contemporary challenges. They emphasized that Arbaeen is not merely a religious observance but a timeless symbol of humanity, justice, freedom, resistance against oppression, and moral awakening. The speakers urged the younger generation to adopt the life and teachings of Imam Husayn (A.S.) as a model for their personal and social lives, to pursue knowledge and awareness, strengthen unity and brotherhood, and play a constructive role in society.
During the Majlis, young participants paid heartfelt tribute to Imam Husayn (A.S.) and the martyrs of Karbala through Marsiya recitation and Noha recitation, creating an atmosphere filled with devotion, sorrow, and spiritual reflection. The remembrance of the sacrifices of the Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.) deeply moved the audience, renewing their commitment to the ideals of Imam Husayn (A.S.).
The gathering was also honored by the presence of Hon. Haji Hanifa Jan, Member of Parliament from Ladakh, who participated in the Majlis and joined the mourners in the Marsiya recitation, expressing his profound devotion and respect for Imam Husayn (A.S.) and the martyrs of Karbala. His participation was warmly appreciated by the attendees as a symbol of religious harmony and social solidarity.
Following the Majlis, all participants joined the historic Arbaeen procession in Delhi while reciting Noha and performing mourning rituals. This procession, popularly known as “Safed Taziyadari” (White Mourning Procession), attracted thousands of mourners who passionately expressed their love, loyalty, and devotion to Imam Husayn (A.S.) and the martyrs of Karbala. Resonating with chants of “Labbaik Ya Husayn”, the procession passed through its traditional route before concluding at Karbala Shah Mardan, where prayers, salutations, and mourning ceremonies marked its conclusion.
The entire event stood as a powerful reminder that Arbaeen continues to inspire millions across the world with its enduring message of unity, brotherhood, self-sacrifice, steadfastness against oppression, and the protection of human dignity. The Majlis and the subsequent procession in New Delhi not only reflected profound love and reverence for the Ahl al-Bayt (A.S.) but also served as an important platform for the intellectual, moral, and spiritual development of the younger generation, successfully conveying the timeless message of Karbala to contemporary society.
The Arbaeen commemoration concluded with a renewed commitment to uphold the eternal values of truth, justice, freedom, compassion, and humanity embodied by Imam Husayn (A.S.), reaffirming that his message will continue to illuminate hearts and inspire future generations to contribute positively toward building a just and ethical society.
