Preface
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful.
Praise belongs to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, and peace and blessings be upon our master and Prophet Muhammad al-Mustafa , and upon his pure and immaculate progeny, especially the Proof of Allah upon the earth.
The true capital of human happiness, success, and salvation lies in knowledge, faith, and righteous action. Through its authentic teachings, Islam has provided mankind with a path that leads not only to prosperity in this world but also to salvation in the Hereafter.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad , whom Allah sent as a mercy to all the worlds, is the eternal guide for humanity. His words and actions remain a beacon of guidance until the Day of Judgment. Likewise, Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq (a), the fountainhead of knowledge and wisdom, is among the foremost leaders of the school of Ahl al-Bayt (a). His teachings continue to enlighten the minds and hearts of seekers of truth across every age.
This compilation presents a selection of the blessed sayings of the Holy Prophet and Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq (a). These narrations address fundamental themes such as love for the Prophet and his family, the essence of faith, piety, spiritual struggle, renunciation of worldly excess, worship, and noble conduct. Together, they provide practical guidance for nurturing intellectual growth, spiritual elevation, and moral excellence.
Prepared on the auspicious occasions of the birth anniversaries of the Holy Prophet and Imam al-Sadiq (a), this humble work is offered as a gift to believers—especially the youth—so that they may reflect upon these pure teachings and strive to embody them in their daily lives.
Our earnest prayer is that this collection illuminates our hearts with the light of faith, elevates our vision, and enables us to live in accordance with the guidance of the Holy Prophet and Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq (a).

1. Love for the Prophet , Ahl al-Bayt, and the Qur’an
Prophet :
“Raise your children with love for me, love for my Ahl al-Bayt, and love for the Qur’an.”
Explanation: The foundation of faith begins with instilling deep affection for the Prophet , his purified family, and the Qur’an in the hearts of the next generation.
2. Obedience to the Divinely-Appointed Leader
Prophet :
“Listen to and obey the one whom Allah has granted authority, for indeed this obedience is the order of Islam.”
Explanation: True Islamic governance requires obedience to rightful leadership appointed by Allah, ensuring unity and discipline in the Muslim community.
3. Love and Enmity for Allah’s Sake
Prophet :
“Love for the sake of Allah, hate for the sake of Allah, befriend for the sake of Allah, and oppose for the sake of Allah. Indeed, the guardianship of Allah cannot be attained except through this. And no one will truly taste the sweetness of faith, even if his prayers and fasts are many, until he is like this.”
Explanation: Faith is not complete unless relationships are built upon divine values, not personal interests.
4. Love of the Prophet and Ahl al-Bayt Benefiting in Seven Places
Prophet :
“My love and the love of my Ahl al-Bayt will benefit at seven places where the terrors are immense:
- At the time of death,
- In the grave,
- At resurrection,
- At the receiving of the book of deeds,
- At the reckoning,
- At the weighing of deeds,
- At the crossing of the Sirāt (bridge).”
Explanation: Love for the Prophet and his family is a shield at life’s most critical and fearful moments.
5. Equality and Piety
Prophet :
“O people! Your Lord is one, and your father is one. All of you are from Adam, and Adam was created from dust. Indeed, the most honourable of you in the sight of Allah is the most God-conscious. An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab except through piety.”
Explanation: Islam abolishes racial and tribal superiority, declaring piety as the only true measure of honour.
6. Definition of a Believer, Muslim, and Migrant
Prophet :
“A true believer is one from whom the lives and property of Muslims are safe. A Muslim is one from whose hand and tongue other Muslims are safe. And a Muhājir is the one who abandons sins and evil deeds.”
Explanation: Faith is defined by safety, peace, and moral transformation, not just rituals.
7. Neglecting Muslim Affairs
Prophet :
“Whoever wakes up without caring for the affairs of the Muslims is not one of them. And whoever hears a man calling out, ‘O Muslims, help me!’ but does not respond, is not a Muslim.”
Explanation: Social responsibility and collective care are inseparable from true Islamic identity.
Sayings of Imam Ja‘far al-Sadiq (a)
1. Completeness of Faith
Imam al-Sadiq (a):
“Whoever loves for the sake of Allah, hates for the sake of Allah, and gives for the sake of Allah, his faith is complete.”
Explanation: Faith matures when all emotions and actions are directed to Allah alone.
2. Superiority through Love
Imam al-Sadiq (a):
“When two Muslims meet, the better of the two is the one who has greater love for his brother.”
Explanation: Brotherhood in Islam is measured by sincere affection, not formality.
3. The Key to Goodness
Imam al-Sadiq (a):
“All goodness has been placed in a house, and its key is renunciation of the world.”
Explanation: Detachment from worldly greed opens the door to true virtue.
4. Signs of Divine Favor
Imam al-Sadiq (a):
“When Allah intends good for a servant, He makes him renounce the world, grants him deep understanding of religion, and shows him the flaws of this world. Whoever is given these, has been granted the good of this world and the Hereafter.”
Explanation: Detachment, knowledge, and insight are divine gifts leading to eternal success.
5. Awareness of Allah
Imam al-Sadiq (a):
“Fear Allah as if you see Him, and if you do not see Him, surely He sees you.”
Explanation: This is the essence of ihsan — worshiping with constant awareness of Allah’s presence.
6. The Best Worship
Imam al-Sadiq (a):
“The Commander of the Faithful (a) used to say: The best form of worship is chastity.”
Explanation: Purity and self-control are higher than rituals in spiritual value.
7. Abandoning Sin for Allah
Imam al-Sadiq (a) narrates:
“The Messenger of Allah said: Whoever abandons a sin out of fear of Allah, Allah will please him on the Day of Judgment.”
Explanation: Avoiding sin sincerely for Allah’s sake guarantees divine pleasure.
8. Allah’s Beloved Act
Imam al-Sadiq (a):
“Allah, the Exalted, said: My servant does not draw closer to Me with anything more beloved than performing what I have made obligatory upon him.”
Explanation: Obligatory duties are the foundation of nearness to Allah, beyond supererogatory acts.
9. Types of Worshippers
Imam al-Sadiq (a):
“Worshippers are of three kinds: some worship Allah out of fear — this is the worship of slaves. Some worship Allah seeking reward — this is the worship of hirelings. Some worship Allah out of love for Him — this is the worship of the free, and it is the best form of worship.”
Explanation: Worship rooted in love is the highest and purest form.
10. Eternity in Heaven and Hell
Imam al-Sadiq (a):
“The people of Hell will remain there eternally because their intention in the world was that if they were to live forever, they would disobey Allah forever. The people of Paradise will remain there eternally because their intention in the world was that if they were to live forever, they would obey Allah forever. Thus, both are eternal due to their intentions. Then he recited: ‘Say: Everyone acts according to his own manner (intention).’”
Explanation: The permanence of reward and punishment reflects the eternal inclinations and intentions of the soul.

دیباچہ
اللہ کے نام سے جو نہایت مہربان اور رحم کرنے والا ہے۔
تمام تعریفیں اللہ کے لیے ہیں جو تمام جہانوں کا پروردگار ہے۔ درود و سلام ہو ہمارے آقا و مولا حضرت محمد مصطفیٰ ﷺ پر، اور ان کی پاکیزہ و معصوم آل پر، بالخصوص زمین پر اللہ کی حجت پر۔
انسانی خوشی، کامیابی اور نجات کا اصل سرمایہ علم، ایمان اور نیک عمل ہے۔ اسلام نے اپنی اصیل تعلیمات کے ذریعے انسانیت کو وہ راستہ عطا کیا ہے جو نہ صرف دنیا میں سعادت کی طرف لے جاتا ہے بلکہ آخرت میں نجات کی ضمانت بھی دیتا ہے۔
رسولِ اکرم حضرت محمد ﷺ، جنہیں اللہ نے تمام جہانوں کے لیے رحمت بنا کر بھیجا، ہمیشہ کے لیے بنی نوع انسان کے رہنما ہیں۔ آپ ﷺ کے اقوال و افعال قیامت تک راہِ ہدایت ہیں۔ اسی طرح امام جعفر صادقؑ، علم و حکمت کے سرچشمہ اور اہل بیتؑ کے عظیم پیشوا ہیں۔ ان کی تعلیمات ہر دور میں حق کے متلاشی دلوں اور ذہنوں کو منور کرتی رہی ہیں۔
یہ مجموعہ رسولِ اکرم ﷺ اور امام جعفر صادقؑ کے منتخب ارشادات پر مشتمل ہے۔ ان اقوال میں محبتِ رسول ﷺ و اہل بیتؑ، ایمان کی حقیقت، تقویٰ، روحانی جدوجہد، دنیا کی بے رغبتی، عبادت اور حسنِ اخلاق جیسے بنیادی مضامین شامل ہیں۔ یہ سب مل کر فکری ارتقاء، روحانی بلندی اور اخلاقی کمال کے لیے عملی رہنمائی فراہم کرتے ہیں۔
یہ مجموعہ پیغمبر اکرم ﷺ اور امام جعفر صادقؑ کی ولادت باسعادت کی مناسبت سے تیار کیا گیا ہے، اور یہ بالخصوص نوجوانوں کے لیے ایک تحفہ ہے تاکہ وہ ان پاکیزہ تعلیمات پر غور کریں اور اپنی زندگیوں میں ان کو عملی جامہ پہنائیں۔
ہماری دلی دعا ہے کہ یہ مجموعہ ہمارے دلوں کو ایمان کے نور سے روشن کرے، ہماری بصیرت کو بلند کرے اور ہمیں رسول اکرم ﷺ اور امام جعفر صادقؑ کی تعلیمات کے مطابق زندگی گزارنے کی توفیق دے۔

رسول اکرم ﷺ کے ارشادات
۱۔ رسول ﷺ، اہل بیتؑ اور قرآن کی محبت
رسول اکرم ﷺ:
“اپنے بچوں کو میری محبت، اہل بیت کی محبت اور قرآن کی محبت پر پرورش کرو۔”
وضاحت: ایمان کی بنیاد اسی وقت مضبوط ہوتی ہے جب اگلی نسل کے دلوں میں رسول ﷺ، ان کے پاکیزہ اہل بیتؑ اور قرآن کی محبت راسخ کی جائے۔
۲۔ اللہ کے مقرر کردہ رہنما کی اطاعت
رسول اکرم ﷺ:
“اس کی سنو اور اطاعت کرو جسے اللہ نے تم پر حاکم بنایا ہے، کیونکہ یہی اسلام کا حکم ہے۔”
وضاحت: صحیح اسلامی حکومت کے لیے ضروری ہے کہ اللہ کی طرف سے مقرر کردہ رہنماؤں کی اطاعت کی جائے تاکہ امت میں اتحاد اور نظم قائم رہے۔
۳۔ اللہ کی خاطر محبت و دشمنی
رسول اکرم ﷺ:
“اللہ کے لیے محبت کرو، اللہ کے لیے دشمنی کرو، اللہ کے لیے دوستی کرو اور اللہ کے لیے مخالفت کرو۔ بے شک ولایتِ الٰہی اسی کے ذریعے حاصل ہوتی ہے۔ اور کوئی شخص ایمان کی مٹھاس نہیں چکھ سکتا خواہ اس کی نمازیں اور روزے زیادہ ہوں، جب تک وہ ایسا نہ ہو۔”
وضاحت: ایمان کامل نہیں ہوتا جب تک تعلقات ذاتی مفاد کے بجائے خدائی اقدار پر مبنی نہ ہوں۔
۴۔ رسول ﷺ اور اہل بیتؑ کی محبت سات مقامات پر فائدہ دے گی
رسول اکرم ﷺ:
“میری اور میرے اہل بیتؑ کی محبت سات مقامات پر فائدہ دے گی جہاں بڑے بڑے خوف لاحق ہوں گے:
۱۔ وقتِ موت،
۲۔ قبر میں،
۳۔ قیامت کے دن،
۴۔ اعمال نامہ ملنے کے وقت،
۵۔ حساب کتاب کے وقت،
۶۔ میزانِ اعمال پر،
۷۔ صراط پر گزرنے کے وقت۔”
وضاحت: رسول ﷺ اور اہل بیتؑ کی محبت زندگی کے سب سے نازک اور پرخوف مرحلوں میں ڈھال ہے۔
۵۔ مساوات اور تقویٰ
رسول اکرم ﷺ:
“اے لوگو! تمہارا رب ایک ہے اور تمہارا باپ ایک ہے۔ تم سب آدم کی اولاد ہو اور آدم مٹی سے پیدا کیے گئے۔ بے شک اللہ کے نزدیک سب سے زیادہ عزت والا وہ ہے جو سب سے زیادہ پرہیزگار ہے۔ کسی عربی کو کسی عجمی پر کوئی فضیلت نہیں سوائے تقویٰ کے۔”
وضاحت: اسلام نے نسلی اور قبائلی برتری ختم کر کے تقویٰ کو عزت کا واحد معیار قرار دیا۔
۶۔ مومن، مسلمان اور مہاجر کی تعریف
رسول اکرم ﷺ:
“مومن وہ ہے جس سے مسلمانوں کی جانیں اور مال محفوظ رہیں۔ مسلمان وہ ہے جس کے ہاتھ اور زبان سے دوسرے مسلمان محفوظ رہیں۔ اور مہاجر وہ ہے جو گناہوں اور برائیوں کو ترک کرے۔”
وضاحت: ایمان کی پہچان امن، سلامتی اور اخلاقی تبدیلی ہے، محض رسومات نہیں۔
۷۔ مسلمانوں کے امور سے غفلت
رسول اکرم ﷺ:
“جو شخص صبح کرے اور مسلمانوں کے معاملات کی پرواہ نہ کرے وہ ان میں سے نہیں ہے۔ اور جو کسی شخص کو یہ پکارتے ہوئے سنے: ‘اے مسلمانو! میری مدد کرو’ اور وہ جواب نہ دے، تو وہ مسلمان نہیں۔”
وضاحت: اجتماعی ذمہ داری اور مسلمانوں کے معاملات میں دلچسپی لینا اسلامی شناخت کا لازمی جزو ہے۔
امام جعفر صادقؑ کے ارشادات
۱۔ ایمان کی تکمیل
امام صادقؑ:
“جو اللہ کے لیے محبت کرے، اللہ کے لیے دشمنی کرے اور اللہ کے لیے عطا کرے، اس کا ایمان مکمل ہے۔”
وضاحت: ایمان اسی وقت پختہ ہوتا ہے جب جذبات اور اعمال سب اللہ کی خاطر ہوں۔
۲۔ برتری محبت میں ہے
امام صادقؑ:
“جب دو مسلمان آپس میں ملتے ہیں تو دونوں میں بہتر وہ ہے جو اپنے بھائی سے زیادہ محبت رکھتا ہے۔”
وضاحت: اسلامی اخوت کی اصل بنیاد خلوصِ محبت ہے، رسمی تعلق نہیں۔
۳۔ خیر و بھلائی کی کنجی
امام صادقؑ:
“ساری بھلائی ایک گھر میں رکھی گئی ہے اور اس کی کنجی دنیا سے بے رغبتی ہے۔”
وضاحت: دنیاوی لالچ سے بے نیازی ہی حقیقی فضیلت کا دروازہ کھولتی ہے۔
۴۔ اللہ کی عنایت کی نشانیاں
امام صادقؑ:
“جب اللہ کسی بندے کے ساتھ بھلائی چاہتا ہے تو اسے دنیا سے بے رغبت کر دیتا ہے، دین کی گہری سمجھ عطا کرتا ہے اور دنیا کے عیوب دکھا دیتا ہے۔ جسے یہ عطا ہو جائے، اسے دنیا و آخرت کی بھلائیاں عطا ہوئیں۔”
وضاحت: زہد، معرفت اور بصیرت الٰہی انعامات ہیں جو ابدی کامیابی کی ضمانت ہیں۔
۵۔ اللہ کی حضوری کا شعور
امام صادقؑ:
“اللہ سے اس طرح ڈرو گویا تم اسے دیکھ رہے ہو، اور اگر تم اسے نہیں دیکھتے تو وہ تمہیں ضرور دیکھ رہا ہے۔”
وضاحت: یہ مقام احسان ہے کہ بندہ ہمیشہ اللہ کی حضوری کا احساس رکھے۔
۶۔ سب سے افضل عبادت
امام صادقؑ:
“امیر المؤمنینؑ فرمایا کرتے تھے: بہترین عبادت پاکدامنی ہے۔”
وضاحت: پاکیزگی اور ضبطِ نفس عبادات سے زیادہ بلند مرتبہ رکھتی ہے۔
۷۔ اللہ کے خوف سے گناہ چھوڑنا
امام صادقؑ روایت کرتے ہیں:
“رسول اللہ ﷺ نے فرمایا: جو اللہ کے خوف سے گناہ ترک کرے گا، اللہ قیامت کے دن اسے خوش کرے گا۔”
وضاحت: خالصتاً اللہ کے لیے گناہ چھوڑ دینا اس کی رضا کی ضمانت ہے۔
۸۔ اللہ کا محبوب عمل
امام صادقؑ:
“اللہ فرماتا ہے: میرا بندہ میری قربت کے لیے سب سے زیادہ محبوب عمل وہی کرتا ہے جو میں نے اس پر فرض کیا ہے۔”
وضاحت: فرائض کی ادائیگی ہی اللہ کی قربت کی اصل بنیاد ہے۔
۹۔ عبادت کی اقسام
امام صادقؑ:
“عبادت گزار تین قسم کے ہیں: کچھ اللہ کی عبادت خوف سے کرتے ہیں — یہ غلاموں کی عبادت ہے۔ کچھ اللہ کی عبادت ثواب کی لالچ میں کرتے ہیں — یہ مزدوروں کی عبادت ہے۔ کچھ اللہ کی عبادت محبت سے کرتے ہیں — یہ آزادوں کی عبادت ہے اور یہی سب سے اعلیٰ عبادت ہے۔”
وضاحت: محبت پر مبنی عبادت سب سے برتر اور خالص ہے۔
۱۰۔ جنت و جہنم کی ابدیت
امام صادقؑ:
“جہنمی ہمیشہ جہنم میں رہیں گے کیونکہ دنیا میں ان کی نیت یہ تھی کہ اگر ہمیشہ زندہ رہیں تو ہمیشہ اللہ کی نافرمانی کریں۔ اہلِ جنت ہمیشہ جنت میں رہیں گے کیونکہ ان کی نیت یہ تھی کہ اگر ہمیشہ زندہ رہیں تو ہمیشہ اللہ کی اطاعت کریں۔ اس لیے دونوں کی ابدیت ان کی نیتوں کی بنا پر ہے۔ پھر آپؑ نے تلاوت کی: ‘کہہ دو: ہر شخص اپنے طریقہ (نیت) کے مطابق عمل کرتا ہے۔’”
وضاحت: جزا و سزا کی ابدیت دل کی نیتوں اور روحانی رجحانات کی عکاسی کرتی ہے۔
