“Grand Conference on the True Values of Education” Held

A grand conference on the topic of “The True Values of Education” was organized on December 16, 2022, at Jamia Ahlul Bayt (A) under the auspices of the Kargil Students Association Delhi (AKSAD) and the Movement of Awakening (MOA). This intellectual session continued from 7 PM to 10 PM and was attended by students, research scholars, and Islamic intellectuals from various cities across India.

The conference began with the welcome address by Professor Mujtaba, who highlighted the significance of acquiring knowledge. He emphasized that a person cannot achieve any rational goal without knowledge and that gaining knowledge is a fundamental right of every human being. He stressed that Islam strongly advocates for education and that Muslim youth must step forward in every field of knowledge to contribute effectively to societal development.

The keynote speaker, Maulana Ali Abbas Khan, a renowned scholar from the Hawza Ilmiyya of Qom, addressed the youth, stating that humans are a combination of two aspects—body and soul—and fulfilling the needs of both is essential. He explained:
“Worldly and religious sciences are not separate but rather complement each other. Worldly sciences act as tools, while religious sciences serve as aims. The former fulfill physical needs, whereas the latter satisfy spiritual necessities.”

Emphasizing the fundamental principles of success—goal identification, hard work, effort, and discipline—he advised students that adhering to these principles is crucial for achieving success in life.

At the end of the conference, a question-and-answer session was held, where participants asked various questions, and the speakers responded in detail.

Finally, Maulana Jawad Habib Kargili expressed gratitude to the participants and speakers, shedding light on two sources of knowledge—”Ilm al-Dirasah” and “Ilm al-Wirathah.” He explained that Ilm al-Dirasah refers to the knowledge acquired through schools, colleges, universities, and religious seminaries under the guidance of teachers and professors, while Ilm al-Wirathah is the knowledge obtained through prayers, supplications, and divine connection. He remarked:
“The stronger a person’s connection with God, the more he will be enlightened with divine knowledge. God grants the light of knowledge to those whom He wishes to guide.”

At the conclusion of the conference, the president of the Kargil Students Union, Mr. Ismail, extended his gratitude to all guests and participants. A dinner was also arranged after the session, which was enjoyed by the attendees.

This conference proved to be a highly beneficial and insightful session on the importance of education, the integration of religious and worldly sciences, and the principles of a successful life.
